I think this score from Once upon a time in America is a real work of art. Every piece of music was perfect for the scene it was used in. Take a listen if you’re not familiar with it.

Top five in Gangster movies for me and it amazes me how many who say they love gangster flicks have not seen it?? Actually i am going to be daring and say its top 3, followed by A Bronx Tale, and Angels with dirty faces. Don't need to listen as i can whistle the variation of a theme off by heart. Missed out on a copy on not having change some years at a boot sale, came back and it had gone, ah ces't la vie.

I lent my copy to someone years ago and never got it back. I bought it again last year. I think it’s one of the greatest films ever made.

Thats shite when that happens, got burnt once doing that... never again. Glad you got another, my dad has this on laser disc somewhere, not the same but still a nice shelf piece.

From the soundtrack "Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence". I like David Sylvian especially Ghosts, which I have in my Misc section. Here he can be found in good mood on this timeless piece of music from Ryuichi Sakamoto.

Even in it’s more urgent moments, this is such a gentle melody. I like it, thanks for posting.
I was thinking that your comment about your miscellaneous section, it would be a good idea for a thread.
