Flicking though my misc section of records last night, which i always enjoy as its full of one trackers mainly but often lurking some surprises including a reggae version which i found only a little recently lurking of what Divine Comedy were supposed to have written as the song for Europe, and incorporated into the classic episode of Father Ted. The unforgettable ditty, My lovely Horse, which is the irony of someone else other than Divine Comedy writing the track. However it can only truly be understood watching the episode. Whether DC were ever aware and it was just a fluke of classic chord progression, remains unknown. Anyway i'm not posting anything like that today.
But the ones below suited my mood last night.

I have four version of this, all rather splendid. Here is John Sebastians Lovin Spoonful original. The first bars remind me of the tv show crossroads.

One from the misc singles section... Fell in love with this as a kid watching the early school holiday 70s re-runs. I finally found a copy at a reenactment of the Battle of Waterloo on Southsea's canoe lake model boats enthusiasts day on a cake and jumble stand in the 90s. After many years of searching, it is one of my most prized loved records. Anyway you can see where this threads going so feel free to follow suit with your selections.

I like Kate Bush. The Kick Inside album got played to death by us both when my sister bought it back in nineteen-seventy-something.
The Lovin’ Spoonful record and The Thomas Lang - I’m hearing some parallels between the two, but that might just be my ears, not everyone else’s.
And you know Nick Drake gets played in this house too. I don’t think I’d ever heard of him until Paul played him to me.

Oh, and the Robinson Crusoe theme, I was tearing my hair out wondering what show that was from, until I finally opened my eyes and realised it was on the YouTube vid. 👀

I think i always had a soft spot for Kate, but it took a soul fan to get me into buying some of her stuff. The woman is in no doubt a genius. I never knew but it does not surprise me Paul likes Nick Drake. I think it was Bob Smith inadvertently got me into Nick Drake, at one of the very early Brighton Record fairs in the early 90s. I remember purchasing It ain't no big thing by personal touch from him and questioning about the boxset which looked interesting and the artist, when i saw it at the right price i bought it. Its such a shame, how things turned out for him, and for his family to endure that loss especially his mother who was also very talented in her own right, and totally doted on him, and he her.
