Well, here's an essential sounding album, to my ears at least. Formerly known as just 'Slique', he released the LP 'Rhythm & Ghetto Soul' in 2009 and now he is back with a real bang! More info about him here:
This is a 16 track strong album, with countless highlights on initial listens.
His 'Brown Liquor' single release a few weeks back hinted at potential and he certainly lives up to that with this set I think. It sounds mostly '70s soul influenced (a few classic samples included as well) and with his added contemporary twist, the results sound great.
Where to start, so many potential favourites, perhaps better to just go and buy the whole album! Here are just a few examples.
That should give you a good idea of what the whole album sounds like, real quality soul for me.

Fully agreed. Didn't know it was Slique, I got a few CDs by him, very good too. This one too has some marvelous Marvin-esque influences !!

Yes there's no doubting this is a very good album indeed. Because nearly all the tracks are really nice. A must for everyone's collection.
