Anyone like music documentaries? I watched the first two parts, of three, of this series last night and after a heavy start it is quite inciteful. The tunes they played, tough many are considered commercial now, sounded absolutely brilliant. One not so commercial tune was the Anderson Brothers with I can see him making love to you which still blows me away decades after first hearing it. Lots of larger-than-life characters are in there and lots of now well-known artists, Candi Staton, Anita Ward, George McCrea & Dexter Wansel to name a few. One of the picks of the series was Harold Melvin and Blue Notes. I won’t mention the track but it is a big player in the story they presented to date Anyway, the link to the BBC iPlayer is below, hope some of you give it a listen and more importantly enjoy it. www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episodes/m001tkyk/disco-soundtrack-of-a-revolution

I enjoyed it. It followed the usual story of boom and bust but the early days are always interesting. I like the way they cited Eddie Kendricks as a major influence in 1972

Glad you enjoyed it. I must also credit Petered as he posted it before xmas and i never saw it, i think it's the same documentary, if not i have another to watch.
Also couldn't get over Tom Moulton, he looked like my dad
Petered said; Interesting series about the origins of Disco on BBC at the moment - watched the first two episodes and thoroughly enjoyed them. The usual suspects are all there but nevertheless it's a good overview with some fascinating interviews. Definitely worth a watch.
