This interested me today. An AOR artist, Bertie Higgins, wrote a couple of songs inspired by Bogart movies, Key Largo and Casablanca. I won’t share them, they really aren’t very good 🤣🤣
Anyhow, what I’m wondering is if others had a similar idea and made a success of it. I think I’d quite enjoy recognising a film within the lyrics of a song.

To qualify this, I’m not looking for songs specifically commissioned by the film itself as soundtrack material but songs with an unexpected nod towards a film.

This is a real proper fave of mine, it's title The Meet Cute references a modern feature in movie scripts but calls back to the 1938 Bluebeard’s Eighth Wife, with a bit of narrative from (I'm guessing) Ernst Lubitsch setting the scene...
