Something else long overdue a reissue is this from 1983 by Beau Williams:
Unfortunately it's on Capitol, so we can't get it cleared... Other tracks by him would be great additions too.....

That's a pity, though not a surprise unfortunately. Maybe news of our interest will find its way back to Universal or whoever has the rights to that part of the EMI catalogue.

I remember this being well promoted at the time, including an appearance on Channel 4's "Solid Soul" show - TC Curtis from 1986:

Onward to 1988 for this, which Robbie Vincent used to play but which never appeared on the recent Soulmusic.com anthology, despite being released on a Warners label - Sister Sledge, from the soundtrack to a Carl Weathers film:

Blimey, that's new (to me at least). Possibly Warner has exclusive licensing agreements elsewhere, but even so disappointing.

There's quite a lot of good material on Ichiban that has never been issued on cd. This great remake of the Mother's Finest classic by Margie Joseph in 1988, for example:

Back to 1985 for this classic by Clarence Carter, which to my knowledge has only ever bee compiled on a couple of Goldmine releases:

Onward to 1989 for this surprisingly under-reissued gem produced by Chris Jasper and performed by Liz Hogue:
Lonnie Liston Smith did a great version of this on his 1991 album release "Magic Lady".
