Amersham ... the record shop on hill avenue (2 mins walk from tube / BR). Loads of 70s and 80s soul and disco lps for around a fiver. On broadway, dawes road london sw6. Even cheaper. Zen, broad lane, tottenham, n17. Always feel a bit itchy going that neck of the woods but they have seriously good, hard to find, modern soul / boogie Lps and 12s. Not sure if Body Music is open these days but that was always worth a trip up the high road = even closer to 'that lot' it must be said. There's a half decent record shop in chesham town centre called 'collectors corner' ... its mostly prog-rock but the geezer has a decent enough selection of soul and funk stuff = my mate used to rinse the place every couple of days = had a copy of the Blair lp for under a fiver off of him a few years back but hes a bit wiser now. Further afield, there used to be a really good shop off of rue etienne marcel in paris - got the trilark album for 15€ a few years back. Amsterdam (9 streets) theres loads of decent record places. USA = NYC is a bit rubbish nowadays, san francisco (around haight) is wicked.

Whereabouts in Haight Reece? Do you mean the main road, or are there others?

Whereabouts in Haight Reece? Do you mean the main road, or are there others? Hi Dave, There’s a huge shop up the top near the park, I think, it’s called Amoeba, and on the way up there is Rooky Ricardos, Groove Merchant and Vinyl Dreams. There might be others too.

Pop Boutique near the top of Bold Street, in the basement, only usually open on a Saturday, owned by Richard Free who's playing at the weekender. 81 Renshaw, just off Bold Street There's a few other little places dotted around but those three are the best ones. See you at the weekend mate! |

We made a visit to Ben’s Records in Guildford today after a tip off. They’ve about 7 boxes of Expansion and Dome records, mainly 12s, for £2 each. It might be worth a trip if that’s your bag.
